Finding the right luxury suite

A suite on the Amalfi Coast is most valuable when its layout gives you somewhere to pause beyond the bed. At Amalfi Azure Retreat, every suite has a separate sitting zone, a sea-facing outdoor area and a marble bathroom with walk-in rain shower. The important differences are terrace size, privacy, kitchen facilities and whether the plunge pool is worth the seasonal premium.
Three useful choices
The Junior Suite is approximately 38 square metres and combines sleeping and sitting areas in one open plan. Its 10-square-metre balcony has two chairs and a café table. It suits couples who want more room but spend their days at the beach, pool or restaurants. The Azure Suite is approximately 52 square metres, with a separate living room, a 20-square-metre terrace and a daybed. It is the best all-rounder for a week-long stay and gives one guest somewhere to read while another sleeps.
The Horizon Pool Suite is approximately 64 square metres and includes a 12-square-metre plunge pool on a screened terrace. The pool is for cooling off rather than swimming, and it is not heated outside the main season. The Signature Suite adds a larger living room, a dining table for four and the widest sunset aspect. It is the most suitable for celebrations or guests who expect to spend meaningful time indoors.
Inclusions and pricing
All suites include breakfast, Wi-Fi, twice-daily housekeeping, a welcome bottle of local wine and access to the main infinity pool. Minibar contents are charged separately. Indicative low-season nightly rates start near €520 for a Junior Suite, €720 for an Azure Suite, €980 for a Horizon Pool Suite and €1,250 for the Signature Suite. July and August can be 60–90% higher; flexible cancellation and breakfast-inclusive rates should be compared rather than judging only the headline figure.
| Suite | Size | Standout feature |
|---|---|---|
| Junior | 38 m² | Large balcony |
| Azure | 52 m² | Separate living room |
| Horizon Pool | 64 m² | Private plunge pool |
| Signature | 78 m² | Dining and sunset terrace |
Practical considerations
Suites are reached by lift, but some terraces have a small threshold. Families should request connecting rooms rather than assume a sofa bed is suitable for older children. The plunge pool is not fenced, so parents should ask about alternatives. Light sleepers should request a suite away from the rooftop service lift. For most couples, the Azure Suite delivers the best balance: enough privacy and terrace space without paying for a plunge pool that may see little use.
